Play Piano Today With Dr. J

When choosing new repertoire look for music “to grow into and not out of.”

Is that the music of Bach?  of Mozart? of Beethoven?  of a classical composer? of a living composer?

Is it music in a dance style?  a fugue?  a sonata?  a suite?

What attributes does a piece of music need to be a piece that you will “grow into” and continue to find exhilarating to play years from now?

What makes a piece of music one which you will never “grow out of”?

Intriguing thoughts to consider.
